Interviews for the post of Director – North East Derbyshire District Council – TO FOLLOW 

(Paragraphs 1, 2 & 3)

Members had given prior consideration to the Expressions of Interest from candidates who had applied for the post of Director – North East Derbyshire District Council.  Three candidates were invited to interview by the Committee.

The Committee welcomed the each candidate for interview in turn.  The Chair advised that a process would be followed and would consist of a presentation, questions from the Committee on the presentation, followed by formal interview questions.  

The interview was undertaken in line with the Council’s Recruitment & Selection Policy and observed by the Managing Director of NEDDC, and supported by HR and Governance.

The Chair advised that the appointment would be reported to full Council on 29^th November 2021, however delegated authority had been given to the Employee and Appeals Committee to make the appointment as a local choice function. There would be a period of transition for the successful candidate in to the role of Director.

RESOLVED – That Matt Broughton be appointed as Director – North East Derbyshire District Council and the appointment be reported to Council at its next meeting.
