Interviews for the post of Managing Director – North East Derbyshire District Council  

(Paragraph 1, 2 & 3)

Members had given prior consideration to the Expressions of Interest from candidates who had applied for the post of Managing Director – North East Derbyshire District Council.  One candidate was invited to interview by the Committee.

The Committee welcomed the candidate for interview.  The Chair described the role of the Managing Director and explained that a process would be followed and would consist of a presentation, questions from the Committee on the presentation, followed by formal interview questions.  

The interview was undertaken in line with the Council’s Recruitment & Selection Policy and observed by representatives from HR and Governance.

The Chair advised that the appointment would be reported to full Council on 29^th November 2021, however the decision on the successful candidate had been delegated to the Employee and Appeals Committee as part of the Council’s local choice functions.

Members took a considered approach to concluding an appointment to the role.

RESOLVED – That Lee Hickin be appointed to the post of Managing Director – North East Derbyshire District Council.

There was no other business to discuss at this meeting.
