To approve as a correct record and the Chair to sign the attached Minutes of the meeting of the Licensing and Gambling Acts Committee held on 8 May 2025.

RESOLVED – That the Minutes of the meeting held on 8 May 2025 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair. 

The Environmental Health Team Manager (Licensing) presented a report to consider the responses to the Gambling Act 2005 policy consultation and a proposal to recommend the draft Gambling Act 2005 policy for adoption at Council.

Members were informed that a 12 week public consultation had been carried out through the Ask Derbyshire website, the Council’s website and social media platforms as well as directly writing to a number of stakeholders. 

The Environmental Health Team Manager (Licensing) explained that Licensing officers received one response to the consultation from Derbyshire Constabulary noting the contents of the Policy and with no further comments to add. 

RESOLVED –

(1)          That the Committee noted the outcome of the public consultation. 

(2)          That the Committee approved the proposed Gambling Act 2005 Policy and Local Area Profile and recommended the draft Gambling Act 2005 Policy for adoption at Council. 

To consider any other matter which the Chair of the Committee is of the opinion should be considered as a matter of urgency.
