Membership of the Licensing and Gambling Acts Sub-Committee 2019-20

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report from the Monitoring Officer that outlined the Membership for the Licensing and Gambling Acts Sub Committee meetings for the 2019/20 Municipal year.

 

            It was stated that the Council had agreed new governance arrangements for discharging its' licensing responsibilities. The Licensing and Gambling Acts Committee formed parts of those arrangements.

 

            Members advised of any diary conflicts and agreed changes to the schedule accordingly.

 

            RESOLVED –

 

            (1)       That the membership and schedule of dates for the potential Licensing and Gambling Acts Sub Committee meetings to be held in the 2019-20 Municipal Year be agreed as amended; and

 

         


          (2)    That the Committee notes the schedule may be subject to change by the Monitoring Officer.

Report No EHM/3/19-20 – Licence Fee Review for Gambling Act 2005

Minutes:

The Committee considered Report No EHM/3/19-20 from the Environmental Health Manager that outlined the review of the license fees charged by the Authority in respect of Gambling Act premises licenses and annual fees.

 

          Members noted that the Council had a legal obligation to regularly review the fees for licensing applications. 

 

          RESOLVED –

 

          (1)    That the revised draft license fees be approved and Officers are instructed to undertake a consultation exercise with licence holders, the public and interested parties;

 

          (2)    Should no objections be received to the proposed licence fees then the revised licence fees should be introduced at the earliest opportunity;

 

          (3)    Should objections be received then these will be considered by Officers in conjunction with the Chair of Licensing and a decision made whether or not to implement the licence fees as proposed.

Matters of Urgency

To consider any other matter which the Chair of the Committee is of the opinion should be considered as a matter of urgency.
