Assistant Director Streetscene be authorised to recruit 1No. Community Recycling Promoter on a temporary basis for a 12 month period; the cost of which is fully met from external funding received.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is awarded joint funding by Derbyshire County Council to undertake recycling and composting promotional work across Bolsover and North East Derbyshire areas in the promotion of increase waste diversion.

Funding includes full cost of employing 1No. Temporary staff to enhance current established joint promotion activities.

Alternative options considered:

Funding enables enhancing joint recycling promotion work undertaken joint by Bolsover and North East Derbyshire Councils. A do nothing approach is not considered in the best interest improving the Councils' combined recycling performance.
