Decision details

- To approve the secondment of NEDDC's Housing Strategy Officer to Bolsover DC for 2 days per week for up to two years.

- This secondment will terminate on the completion of phase 2 of the review of the Strategic Housing functions across both Councils and once all posts are filled.

The Strategic Alliance Joint Committee which met on 27th February 2015 approved a Joint Housing Strategy and Growth Manager and a Joint Housing Growth Officer.

Although the Joint Manager post was appointed to, the Joint Housing Growth Officer post is still vacant as the employees affected left the organisation. This has resulted in only 2.5 days per week capacity at Bolsover which is affecting service delivery.

- It is therefore requested that the existing Housing Strategy Officer post holder at NEDDC, who has considerable affordable housing experience, be seconded for 2 days per week to BDC Strategic Housing to assist the Joint Housing Strategy and Growth Manager. This is a temporary solution whilst the wider service review is undertaken. The secondment will be funded from the Joint Housing Growth Officer vacancy.

No other options available at this time. Options being explored as phase 2 of the restructure.
