To increase fees and charges set out at
Appendix 1 (exclusive of VAT) to reflect DCC price
increases.
In pursuit of the strategy of being fiscally
responsible and efficient, the periodic review of service charges
ensures inflation is taken into consideration, along with
operational demands and policies to meet cost of service delivery.
It also ensures that these issues are balanced against the needs of
the public in terms of keeping fees and charges as low as
possible.
Derbyshire County Council increased their fees for highways
comments from 1 April 23. An information sheet has been produced to
offer the following:
• Full search including DCC highways information at the full
cost (including DCC’s new charge)
• NEDDC search at the existing lower cost (without DCC’s
highways information) and refer to DCC for highways responses
and/or the Derbyshire Mapping Portal which provides some highways
information.
The Register part of the search is due to transfer to the Land
Registry in 2024.
A “do nothing” approach, is not
sustainable in the delivery of chargeable services. Particularly,
where the services are wholly dependent upon income generation.
Should fees and charges not be reviewed this would result in rises
in the cost of operations, arising from inflation, not being
met.
