Decision:

The appointment of an agency worker to NEDDC Payroll from Friday, 14th August 2015. The worker to be engaged for 30 hours a week at £16.78 per hour.

Reasons for the decision:

The hiring of this agency worker will enable stability for the NEDDC Payroll. This will enable a review of service delivery issues in the short term.

It will be subject to both a weekly review while these temporary arrangements are in place and will end once the review is concluded.

Alternative options considered:

To carry on without the extra resource. This was rejected as it would leave NEDDC Payroll vulnerable to failing to be able to deal with payroll tasks in time for pay to be process on time for the entire workforce.

NEDDC HR support staff are transferred to Payroll at Doe Lea. This was rejected due to the detrimental impact on the HR service as a whole.

Advertising a temporary post. This was rejected as the HR Service is already under temporary arrangements pending a service review which is due to commence in the short term.
