Consideration has now been given to the
contractual conditions and officers are satisfied that outstanding
matters of detail have been clarified and resolved. Accordingly
officers are now in the process of actioning the delegation and
agreeing contractual terms.
The benefits that would arise from acquiring
the enhanced software as part of a Derbyshire wide consortium were
set out within the original report. These included an improved
service to local residents, increased levels of income and the
potential for securing efficiencies in the service.
The main option would be not to acquire the
system which would mean that the benefits identified in the
original report would not be achieved. Given that the benefits
clearly outweigh the associated costs a decision not to implement
the new software is not considered to be appropriate.
