Decision Maker: Director of Growth and Assets
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
To continue with the transaction as approved
by Delegated Decision (DD-025-19-KA) even though there are two
fewer units of affordable housing than was originally
agreed.
Cabinet under the previous administration,
agreed that it would fund the scheme by way of commuted sum
receipts to the value of £140,000. The scheme is for 100%
social housing.
The developer is East Midlands Housing (EMH) group and the site is
Chesterfield Road, Long Duckmanton.
As part of the planning process, 2 units had to be removed form the
proposal. The decision is to proceed even though the number of
units has decreased by two and that the formal agreement has not
yet been signed.
The commuted sums have been received by the
Council pursuant to section 106 agreements. There is however a time
limit on the use of these monies.
There are no alternative affordable housing schemes for the use of
the money therefore if the Long Duckmanton scheme does not proceed
it would result in the repayment of the commuted receipts to the
developer with interest. This is not considered a feasible
option.
