To directly award a one off contract to Mace
consultancy to develop North East Derbyshire’s UK Shared
Prosperity Fund Investment Plan and support the Council to
establish an appropriate delivery/management model. This will
enable the District’s allocation of the fund to be unlocked
delivered in an appropriate manner.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and
Communities (DLUHC) has launched the UK Shared Prosperity Fund,
allocating funds to local authorities. To access these funds the
Council must develop and submit an Investment Plan by 1 August 2022
that has involved and consulted with local stakeholders to shape
the priorities and funding allocations.
Publicising the contract through the Council’s Intend
procurement process would risk missing the deadline.
The total cost of the contract is up to £20,000, which is
fully funded by Central Government in recognition that local
authorities are likely to need this additional capacity in order to
meet the deadline.
Consideration was given to undertaking this
work in-house but the timescale and other necessary duties meant
that this was not a reasonable option and exposed the Council to
the risk of missing the deadline to access the funds.
