Decision:
To agree to the appointment of CT Construction
to carry out construction works at Wingerworth Lido.
Reasons for the decision:
The works to raise the embankment at
Wingerworth Lido are required under the Reservoirs Act 1975, and
must be completed (including the construction) by 15th November
2022.
A full tender was carried out for the works at Wingerworth Lido. CT
Construction were the only respondent. The cost of works will be
£109,549.34, which is within the expected range of
£100-130,000.
Following the evaluation of the tender, it is clear that CT
Construction have the experience, accreditation and resources to
carry out the works to the expected standard.
Alternative options considered:
Not carry out the works at Wingerworth Lido.
This was rejected as the works are required by law and failure to
carry out the works would result in prosecution.
Retender the contract. This was rejected due to the tight timeframe
and possibility that no tenders would be received if the exercise
was to be repeated.
