Further revision of timetable following request from the Parish Counci

Decision Maker: Managing Director

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To extend the timetable for consideration of the review by Council to the first Council meeting following the Annual Meeting. This is proposed for 31st July 2023.

Reasons for the decision:

At the consultation meeting with the Shirland and Higham Parish Council, the Working Party was asked to consider an extension to the timetable for the Stonebroom Community Governance Review to allow the newly elected Council (following the May elections) to express their opinion. The current Parish Council Members did not consider it appropriate for them to consider the matter so close to the elections.
This was followed by an email formally requesting such a delay.
The Working Party understand and agree with the Parish Council’s request and wish to extend the timetable accordingly. The extension would have no other effect on the Review other than to give a longer date for the District Council to consider the matter.

Alternative options considered:

Not to delay. This was rejected as the Shirland and Higham Parish Council’s view is needed to complete the Review.
