Decision:

To establish and recruit to a temporary part time creditors post for a period of 12 months.

Reasons for the decision:

The gap in the creditors team left by the shuffling of resources to cover the finance function following the deletion of the AD finance post has been covered to date through an agency on a week to week basis.

The agency currently being used is no longer providing short term agency staff and this arrangement will end on 27 October. A number of other agencies have been contacted and no suitable replacements have been found.

The resource is needed to ensure that the service can continue to function, without it the service will be severely restricted. The post is for 12 months whilst a resolution is sought re the aforementioned gap in resources.

This will cost £14k and can be funded within existing resources.

Alternative options considered:

The only alternative is to find suitable agency cover but this has already been tried unsuccessfully.
