Approval is granted to award Lanes Group Plc.
the contract for the provision of the Drain Clearing Service for
the period from the 1st June 2023 to the 31st May 2024 at the rates
set out in the tender, reference: NEDDC/LC/007/2023
Lanes Group Plc. are recommended to be awarded the contract as the
most economically advantageous tender as required by the
Council’s Constitution PART 4 SECTION 10.1.
The Drain Clearing Service is provided under a
longstanding Service Level Agreement between Rykneld Homes and the
Council’s Engineering Services Section
In accordance with the Council’s Constitution PART 4 -
CONTRACT RULES SECTION 5.5; The contract was advertised as an open
tender via the council’s Procurement section on Source
Derbyshire and InTend. There were five returns.
Award the contract to one of the other
companies who submitted a higher priced RFQ. This would result in
North East Derbyshire District Council paying more for the supply
of the Drain Clearing Service and not meeting best value.
Not enter into a contract for the service. This would mean that the
out-of-hours service could not be provided, there would be a vastly
increased workload in pricing for each job and we would be
vulnerable to increases in prices.
