The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Regulation 3 of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 that a report containing exempt information will be considered by Cabinet, at its meeting on Thursday 20 May 2021. Notification of this exempt item was not published on the Council’s website 28 clear days before it was due to be considered by Cabinet, as is required by these regulations.

Purpose of the Report

To progress the proposed restructure of the Housing Strategy and Economic Development teams within the Growth and Economic Development Directorate.

Compliance with the requirement to give 28 clear days’ notice in accordance with the above Regulation is impracticable as the matter is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.

Reason for urgency: To enable implementation of the proposed restructure to be undertaken as soon as possible. This would ensure that the services were suitably resourced to meet ongoing challenges which they face as well as the aspirations within the Council Plan.

This report is exempt and it is proposed that it be considered in private to avoid the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended by the Local Government (Access to information) (Variation) Order 2006).

The Chair of the Growth Scrutiny Committee has been informed that consideration of the report will be held in private at the above meeting of Cabinet.
