Notice is hereby
given in accordance with Regulations 5 and 10 of the Local
Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to
Information) (England) Regulations 2012 that the following key
decision to be made in private at the above Meeting of Cabinet.
Notification of this Key Decision was not published on the
Council’s website 28 clear days before it was due to be
considered by Cabinet, as is required by these regulations.
Proposed Decision:
(1) to purchase properties using 1-4-1 housing receipts;
(2) To establish a delegated decision making process to enable any
other suitable property that can be acquired prior to the 31st
March 2021 to be purchased.
Reason for urgency:
To enable the Council to use outstanding 1-4-1 (Right to Buy)
receipts to fund replacement social housing in the District. These
receipts have to be spent before 31st March 2021. If they are not
spent within this timeframe then the Council will have no option
but to return the receipts to the Ministry of Housing, Communities
and Local Government (MHCLG), with interest.
This report is exempt and it is proposed that it be considered in
private to avoid the disclosure of exempt information as defined in
paragraph 3 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (as
amended by the Local Government (Access to information)(Variation)
Order 2006).
The Chair of the Growth Scrutiny Committee has been informed of the
key decision to be taken in respect of the exempt report and has
consented to consideration of the report being held in private at
the above meeting of Cabinet.
