Purchase of 1 No used refuse narrow track 4 x
2 lorry at £22,250 and 1 No used DAF 7.5 tonne caged vehicle
at £6,500 from Bolsover District Council.
Purchase funded via the Council's approved capital replacement
programme.
Vehicles are purchased via end of lease option from BDC's lease
provider. Vehicles have full service history and second hand trade
valuations represent good value to the Council.
Reasons for the decision:
To meet Refuse service delivery needs in
arising from current relief vehicles reaching the end of their
effective period of utilisation.
Alternative options considered:
Replacement of vehicles by way of hire/lease
is not considered to offer good value to the Council.
Outright purchase of the use vehicle is considered the most cost
effective option and provides greater flexibility in how the asset
is managed by way of extended vehicle utilisation.
